What a surprise this place was! There's nothing else like it in the area. I can't remember the last time I was in a restaurant this clean, seriously. The house made beer was excellent, and the meatloaf my wife had was the best we've ever tasted! The owner, Sandy, even came by our table and gave us a tour of the place. We hope to be back many times!
My husband and I came up for a quick getaway, and this place was close to our cabin we were staying at. We came in March almost at opening and it was the BEST experience we could’ve had. The staff was super friendly and allowed us to look around at everything and really get to know the place. It felt super special and personal. The tap choices and drink menus were amazing. The food was completely out of the world. I’ve also never been to a place that serves pickle flights and that was truly my highlight. We for sure will recommend this place to anyone going to this area. As people from a small town near Lansing this place truly felt comfortable and like home.
It’s exceptional to come across with a place with so many vegan and allergy-inclusive options. Everyone can eat here! Drinks list starts with mocktails that can be upgraded to cocktails. Beer was great and service attentive. Highly recommend!
Really nice folks here! And the layout is upscale but relaxed at the same time. I ate at the bar because I was alone as none of my family wanted to come. Their loss. The bartender, Tony, was very professional, attentive and always polite. I had to order the Cuban sandwich, the description was just too good not to. A bit of a variation - no ham, no roast pork -, just brisket instead, but I need a Cuban, I'm having withdrawal. And it was good, very good. Not the full 12" x 5" but that would be a lot of sandwich for dinner by myself. The chips were tasty, super crunchy and a nice contrast to the sandwich. And the beer! So good! Had the Gold Barrel & Dark Matter, two high ABV brews. The music is is classic rock, at an acceptable volume! They have a sign out front advertising that the have vegan & allergy friendly choices. This is a very nice place with very good beer and food. I would gladly return.
Sandy, the owner, went out of her way to greet us and explain the gluten free menu and options. The appetizer special was tasty, the dinners were delicious with large portions. We had brewed beer but no room for dessert. This place was a great find!!
Olivia, our server was very attentive. She made vegan recommendations that proved to be excellent. Food was good. Portions were plentiful and we wanted for nothing! Excellent service!
Great restaurant with excellent food and friendly people. We loved all of our entrees: brisket french dip, meatloaf and pizza. Sandy the owner stopped by to say hi and check on us. Her story is interesting, and kudos to satisfying vegans and people with food allergies along with those of us who don't fall under those groups. I read an article on the wall about their attention to those special groups, and it is not just lip service as it is in so many restaurants. Well done.
I have been gluten free for awhile. I have always struggled with finding good gluten free food at restaurant. My father chose to go here for father's day and my mother agreed because they had "gluten free options." I thought I would end up with a salad but when got there the owner herself seated us and told us about the business she started. I was in awe of the options and flavor of the food.
